I love it when a plan comes together. I was introduced to this cold spring by a local friend on a hot summer afternoon. It's a magical place, little known in a time when every spring in the Eastern Sierra has become public knowledge. I planned to return for sunset that evening. The summer monsoon clouds were set up perfectly across the valley, framing the High Sierra landmarks (Ritter, Banner, Minarets). I composed the shot while waist deep in the spring, and watched the amazing light show while tiny trout swam around my feet.
